Vote RAE VOGELER for Senate
Vote YES for ATC study
Vote YES for SCHOOLS

DON'T FORGET TO FLIP THE BALLOT OVER!

A FAIR Wisconsin Votes NO
Vote "NO" on the civil unions and marriage ban! This amendment would write discrimination into our state constitution. It is unfair and unneeded. The PD membership voted earlier this year to join the Fair Wisconsin coalition and we've been working to defeat the ban ever since--now it's crunch time! Please help defeat this amendment by voting NO and helping us get out the NO vote!

We need help Sat. Nov. 4 through Tues. Nov. 7--"Get Out the Vote Weekend". There will be lit drops and phone banks Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. To sign up call Tim Michael at 608.441.0143. We really need volunteers on ELECTION DAY to knock on doors and ask people to go vote. These people have been identified as "NO" votes so it should be easy work. Shifts for Nov. 7 are 8am-1pm, 1pm-5pm, 5pm-8pm; there will be phone banks too. Call Tim Michael to sign up. With your help we WILL win!! Visit the campaign web site.

Vote YES for SCHOOLS
PD has teamed up with several long-time school advocates, educators, parents, and others through Communities And Schools Together (CAST) in support of a "YES" vote on the Nov. 7 MMSD referendum. The referendum, which was put on the ballot by a unanimous vote of the school board, addresses critical needs at a cost of $29.21 for the average home next year, even less in later years.

Some reasons to vote YES on the referendum...(1) building a new west side elementary school eases overcrowding and spreads the benefits of neighborhood schools (2) refinancing the addition at Leopold School and a second loan can help reduce costs and save the district money on interest (3) a strong school system is a critical factor to maintain property values and draw new businesses to Madison, which brings money and opportunities to the area. Vote YES for ATC study
The Nov. 7 ballot asks whether voters support an independent, objective study of Dane County's future electricity needs. The choice is clear and simple...vote "YES" on the power line study referendum. The study we have now was sponsored by the American Transmission Co., which builds, operates, and profits from power lines. It recommends spending over $200 million on new power lines which will impact our environment and numerous neighborhoods, homes, and businesses in Dane County. PD has endorsed the call for an independent study. We all rely on affordable and reliable energy and we need a comprehensive approach to power production, transmission, technology, conservation, and environmental responsibility to ensure that the lights stay on and energy is affordable. We need an independent, unbiased second opinion--vote "YES" for the Transmission Line Study.

Vote RAE VOGELER for Senate
Progressive Dane endorses Rae Vogeler for U.S. Senator. Tax cuts for the wealthy and spendthrift defense contracts mean suffering and neglect in our county and city. The destruction of American and Iraqi lives is tragic. Incumbent Senator Herb Kohl, though he faces no serious Republican opposition, has failed to take a strong stand against the Bush policies on war, tax cuts, and erosion of civil rights. Rae is a hard-working candidate with extensive experience in the peace movement and community organizing. This election is a chance for you to vote for what you really want...universal health care, campaign finance reform, a progressive tax structure, funding for education and social services rather than for foreign adventures and the corporations that profit, fair trade policies, a vigorous defense of civil rights, and a renunciation of the disastrous war policies of this administration.
