While the US Presidential contest is drawing most of the media attention, don’t forget that there are a couple of key local issues that will be decided on this ballot too.
Two important updates follow:
1. County Board District 10
It looks like we get another try at picking up a seat on the Dane County Board. The previous District 10 Supervisor, Dave Worzala, resigned in order to take the Dane County Treasurer’s position. So a special election will take place concurrent with the Presidential Election
There are two candidates in this race and at the August 27th General Membership Meeting, Progressive Dane voted to endorse Brad Wolbert for the District 10 seat because of his solid stance for sensible mass transit, sound environmental protection, and a commitment to represent the residents of District 10 to the best of his abilities.

The fourth letter to the editor is from Brad Wolbert:

2. MMSD School Funding Referendum
Progressive Dane also voted to endorse the school funding referendum and to donate 100 dollars to the organization Communities and Schools Together (CAST), which is the main organization backing the referendum. The decision was made because of the importance of quality publication education, of which Progressive Dane has always been a proud supporter.
The donation was made because of CAST’s record of success and because they are the main organization backing the referendum.
