City and County Meetings of Interest 7/6/15

Running late . .  . our apologies.   Find out which meetings Progressive Dane recommends.  These are meetings with issues our elected officials are working on and need support or issues identified by the party as being of concern.  Biggest one is Judge Doyle Square tonight!

CITY

On Tuesday (tonight!) the COMMON COUNCIL ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITTEE will be meeting earlier than usual a 4:00 in roon 108 CCB, they will be discussing the 2016 Proposed Common Council Meeting Dates, plus looking at the big picture in discussing the City of Madison 2015-2016 Legislative Agenda and Discussion: Council Strategic Planning, Developing 2015 – 2016 Legislative Agenda and CCOC Projects

Immediately following on Tuesday at 6:30 PM the COMMON COUNCIL will meet in room 201 CCB with the biggest issue being Judge Doyle Square.   Please read the report and email your alder (alllalders@cityofmadisoncom and make sure you leave your address) or show up tonight at the council meeting if you can.  More details here.

On Wednesday at 4:30 PM BOARD OF ESTIMATES will have a special meeting to finalize discussions on the capital budget and consider recommendations to the Mayor for the 2016 Executive Capital Budget and CIP.

Also Wednesday at 5:30 PM the  TRANSIT AND PARKING COMMISSION meets in room 260 MMB to get an update on JDS Proposal for Judge Doyle Square, presented by Asst. Parking Utility Manager Scott Lee as well as a Public Hearing: To hear comments on proposed removal of the bus shelter at the top of State Street at W. Mifflin Street

COUNTY

On Tuesday at 4:00 PM Public Protection & Judiciary – Length of Stay Workgroup meets in room 357 of the City-County Building 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.  On Wednesday at 5:00 PM Public Protection & Judiciary – Mental Health, Solitary Confinement and Incarceration Workgroup at The Atrium, 2300 South Park St, Madison.

On Tuesday at 5:45 PM Health & Human Needs Committee meets with the Human Services Board in room 351 at the City-County Building.  They will be discussing a resolution for $100,000 for homeless services since the day shelter will no be opening.

On Wednesday at 4:00 PM Commission on Economic & Workforce Development CCB, Room 421 meets to have a discussion of possible joint effort of the Commission on Economic & Workforce Development and the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to hold a community forum to gather community input on desires for transportation options and a Public Market District Paper Draft
