Coordinating Council

The Coordinating Council is the highest member-elected leadership of Progressive Dane. The Coordinating Council administers the day-to-day operations of the Party and oversees activities of the various committees and task forces. Additionally, the Coordinating Council is responsible for setting the agenda of General Membership Meetings (GMM). Coordinating Council, in consultation with the Elections, Outreach, and Policy committees, crafts the vision and direction of Progressive Dane on the party's electoral and issue-based actions.

The Coordinating Council typically meets on the first and third Sunday of every month at 10:30am at the Social Justice Center. Meetings are open to any member of Progressive Dane.

Brenda Konkel, Party Co-chair, Elections Committee Chair: brendakonkel@gmail.com

Brenda Konkel is the Executive Director of the Tenant Resource Center, where she has worked for the last 20 years. In addition to her work with the Tenant Resource Center, Brenda has served as a City of Madison Alder, President of the Common Council, Plan Commission, Board of Estimates, and numerous other city committees and commissions. Brenda has served as Co-Chair of Progressive Dane and has been a dedicated member since 1997. Brenda is also the co-founder of the Affordable Housing Action Alliance, a proud member of Occupy Madison, the site coordinator for OM Tiny House Village, is active in the Dane County Homeless Services Consortium, is an active volunteer at WORT FM and is a blogger at and co-founder of ForwardLookout.com. When she isn’t working on social justice issues, Brenda enjoys local live music, gardening, camping, and spending time with her partner of nearly 25 years, er, her husband, Rob Bloch.
