The sample letter is available in PDF format for quick printing or in Microsoft Word format for editing in a word processor.
Campaign Elections Support
Average time commitment: Hours and hours until the election is over, but it is all worth it when your candidate wins!
Committee and Task Force Members
Much of the work of Progressive Dane is done by committees and task forces. Committees and task forces each focus on a specific topic or issue and meet regularly. Committees focus on organizing and party-building, while task forces focus on issue campaigns and policy development. Click here for a list of committees and task forces to find one that compliments your interests.

Tabling
Tabling at a popular event can draw people over to see what Progressive Dane is all about. It also allows us to get information out through handouts, sign up new members, and recruit new volunteers. Each summer we table from May through November at several different events. The more volunteers we have, the more events we can attend. If you have a favorite festival or event in Dane County you think Progressive Dane should be at, let PD Staff know by volunteering for a shift and supplying the name, date(s), and location of the festival.
Average time commitment: 2 to 3 hours per shift.
Phone Bank
Volunteers make calls from 6:30-8:00 p.m. to our members, supporters, and voters to encourage them to get involved in the Progressive Dane. We invite them to PD Events, remind them to renew, or urge them to volunteer.
Average time commitment: 1 hour per shift (internet research and e-mail communications); most work can be done from home.
Mailing
During mailings, volunteers compile newsletter, invitations, or letters by folding newsletters, invitations, or letters and stuffing, labeling, and sealing envelopes. Mailings are a great opportunity to meet other PD volunteers and chat about what's happening in the city and county. Compiling the newsletter is an on-going activity that occurs the 3rd Tuesday of every month in the Social Justice Center's main conference room at 1202 Williamson Street from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Office Support
Help with office tasks. Volunteers are invited to stop by the office at the Social Justice Center on Monday or Wednesday between 1:30 and 4 p.m. to assist with the following tasks. Please contact the PD Staff for a brief overview of process and to schedule a different time to come in.
