We wish him great success and are pleased that he will still be in town working with other Progressive Dane members on those issues that most interest him.
Thus we find ourselves in search of a new Outreach/Volunteer Coordinator. This key individual's primary responsibility will be to recruit new members, but will also work to expand Progressive Dane's volunteer base, help to build leadership capacity among current members, and work to increase community interest in Progressive Dane.

Progressive Dane members endorsed this resolution and worked as part of the coalition to educate the public generating the support needed to help get this passed.

Advocates tell us we need a lot more funds for our services to be more effective in preventing and ending homelessness, but many claim we already have cadillac services and more would simply attract more transients.
What can we do as individuals and as a grassroots political organization to push plans to end homelessness? Let's talk.
Thursday, June 5th: The Dane County Coalition to Fight Homelessness and End Poverty invites the general public and media to discuss with experienced advocates about the history of homelessness in Dane County, where it is right now, where we want to go in terms of ending it, and what we have to do to get there. First United Methodist Church, 203 Wisconsin Avenue, 5-8 pm.
Sunday, June 8th: Progressive Dane is hosting a planning and discussion session in order to bring elected officials and organizers together. Presentations by Operation Welcome Home and Joseph Lindstrom from the Homelessness Consortium. Join Brenda Konkel, Marsha Rummel, John Hendrick, Barbara Vedder, Wyndham Manning, and other electeds. Wil-Mar Center, 953 Jenifer Street, 6-8 pm.

The past spring elections were a little quiet, perhaps a little more quiet than we would have liked; however, there was still plenty of electoral action going on. There were two open school board seats, with only one candidate for each seat. Progressive Dane had one endorsed candidate out of the two races. On the County Board, there five Progressive Dane incumbents running for reelection; three of them were unopposed and two had opponents. There was also a Progressive Dane supervisor who was moving on, so there was an open seat for Progressive Dane to defend as well. So without further ado, here is the race-by-race break down:
