Recommended City and County Meetings this Week 6/8/15

Find out which meetings Progressive Dane recommends this week at the City and County (and this week School Board too!).  These are meetings with issues our elected officials are working on and need support or issues identified by the party as being of concern.

CITY

Tonight the Board of Estimates meets at 4:30 in Room 260 of the Municipal Building and has a jam packed agenda with something for everyone, Brenda Konkel explains in detail.  Of particular interest to Progressive Dane are the grant for hiring more police officers to reduce racial dispartities, (?!) having developer agreements in TIF projects to prevent strikes and minimally work with unions,  finally approving a plan for TID 45 after they have given Anchor Bank $13 and are giving the W. Wash project $2M before the Jt. Board of Review even decides if they want to create the TIF District.  There are also several items rushing Judge Doyle Square through the process (31, 32, 33, 34).  Plus, why the Union Corners project needs exceptions to TIF policy.

Tuesday the Public Safety Review Committee will meet at 5:00 in room GR-22 of the City-County Building will be discussing advocating for a role with the PSRC in the Task Force to study police procedures

Wednesday the Transit and Parking Commission will be meeting to discuss starting the process to eliminate the bus stop at the top of State St. and Route Changes to 6, 10, 11, 12, 25 and 59.

COUNTY

Tonight at 6:30 in Room 354 of the City-County Building the Homeless Issues Committee meets to discuss adding $2M to the capital budget for the day center and $100,000 to operating funds for additional gap services until the day center is up and running.
